Meet Scarlet, the
Bullistik redhead with all the attitude imaginable everyplace but
in the show ring! She is out of our redhead,
Margarita, and by our chunk-a-muffin black mask red boy,
Nero.
Scarlet is an
extraordinarily beautiful girl, but has truly lived up to her
registered name; she just doesn't give a damn what
the rest of the world wants or thinks.
Scarlet is all
about Scarlet and does exactly what she pleases whenever she
pleases.
Of course, this
problem can be blamed partially on the fact that she is a redhead,
partially because she was born in Texas, and mostly because her
owners, Melissa Hagerstrand & Jason Holly, let her get away
with murder.
 But,
in their defense, look at the kisser on this dog! How would
anyone be able to deny the wishes of this saucy little tart? One
look from her and the sad fact is that you just melt.
Trust me, I live
with her mama and daddy, so I am here to tell you that resistance
is futile. The only solution to this ongoing problem is to
simply resign yourself to the fact that another redhead has won
the battle of who has the stronger will between frogdog and their
human(s).
So, it is best to
simply bow to the queen, and hope she'll see fit to repay you one
day by actually using those beautiful bat ears in the show ring so
the judge(s) can hand her that purple ribbon she so rightfully
deserves, rather than that dang 'close but no cigars' purple &
white jobby.
Scarlet has
actually behaved well in the ring on the odd occasion so is
pointed toward her AKC championship title.
Most recently, at
the 2009 Northern California French Bulldog Specialty shows, she
went Reserve Winners Bitch (that would be those icky purple &
white jobby's) under both specialty Judges. We gotta give
her credit for making it all the way to 'runner up'
at both specialties, but EARS Scarlet, for gawd sakes just use
those dang ears!
As you can see,
little Ms. Scarlet has a beautiful topline and tail set, lovely
front and rear, spring of rib, and depth of chest. Her head
is classic Bullistik, and when she uses those glorious ears of
hers, she creates quite a magnificent picture!
